MY STORY

Photography has been part of my life to one degree or another for as long as I can remember. As a child, I was captivated by my best friend’s Polaroid camera—I borrowed it every chance I got. That early love of capturing and preserving moments has stayed with me. I got my first camera not long after, and I've been making photographs ever since. It is only in the last several years that I began printing, selling, and submitting my work to juried art shows. The first time I ever submitted my work to a juried art exhibition was the photo Timeless, a black and white photo of the d'Orsay clock in Paris, which sold at the opening reception. I was hooked and continued to enter art shows and sell my work. The next step in my creative journey came in the fall of 2024 when I rented a gallery in Murray Hill Galleries in Cleveland Ohio, and then opened in December 2024.

MY APPROACH TO PHOTOGRAPHY

My photography niche most closely aligns with Fine Art photography. My style leans toward expressionist and abstract, although not exclusively. My subjects are usually of the natural world but I also photograph architecture, street scenes, and places I travel. My photography is rooted in a lifelong love of nature and a desire to translate its beauty and the sensory experience into photographs. Photography is both art and language. It’s how I express and share what I see and feel in the world. Beauty in the natural world can elevate us and be a source of connection.

Visitors to the gallery often connect most with my more abstract or creative photos, which also happen to be the ones I most enjoy making. I use the word making intentionally. Photographs aren’t simply taken—they are crafted. From the moment of capture to the final edit, every image is the result of careful attention and intention. While I use digital tools like Lightroom and Photoshop, my images begin in the real world—in other words they are not made by AI.

WHAT INSPIRES ME

At its heart, my photography is about discovery and expression. I am forever drawn to texture, shape, light, and atmosphere, and to the small details and larger patterns that connect us to place. Much of my work reflects on our relationship with the natural world. Nature, in her wildness and serenity, speaks to something ancient and immediate within us. My goal is to create images that reflect that connection and which invite the viewer to feel it too.

MAKING ART ACCESSIBLE

I believe owning art should be within the reach of everyone. As printing and framing costs have risen, I have sought creative ways to make my work more accessible. That includes offering acrylic photo blocks, which are vibrant small-format pieces perfect for desks, shelves, and smaller spaces. I also offer unframed prints, greeting cards, metal prints and smaller framed works. Most images are available in a variety of sizes and formats to fit most any budget or space.

COMMUNITY & CONVERSATION

I intend for the gallery to be a space for community, connection, and creative exchange. I believe in the power of art to connect us to one another and to the world around us. I hope my photographic work inspires conversation and curiosity, and encourages visitors to the gallery to investigate their own creativity. I believe we all have the ability to create.
